Schnader Attorneys Speak at The Second “Colonial Frontier” Legal Writing Conference

Schnader attorneys George E. McGrann, Bruce P. Merenstein and Marla K. Conley will speak at The Second “Colonial Frontier” Legal Writing Conference – “The Arc of Advanced Legal Writing: From Theory Through Teaching to Practice” on Saturday, March 5, 2011 at Duquesne University School of Law in Pittsburgh, Pa. The attorneys will present, “Law Firms as Agents of Curricular Change,” a panel addressing how law firms can be agents of curricular change, encouraging law schools to implement advanced legal writing courses.

Sessions at the conference will include:

• “Writing on the Envelope: An Exploration of the Unique Advantages and Limits of the Written Word,” Prof. Mary Ray (University of Wisconsin Law School)
• “Legal Writing in a Time of Recession: Developing Cognitive Skills for Complex Lawyering Tasks,” Prof. Elizabeth Fajans (Brooklyn Law School)
• “Guidance from the Bench and Bar,” Profs. Sheila Miller, Susan Wawrose and Victoria VanZandt (University of Dayton School of Law) and Prof. Johanna Oreskovic (University at Buffalo Law School)
• “Writing in a Law Firm Context: Creation, Collaboration and Course Correction,” Profs. Julia Glencer, Erin Karsman and Tara Willke (Duquesne University School of Law)

This program has been approved by the Pennsylvania Continuing Legal Education Board for five (5) hours. All credits are substantive law practice and procedure CLE credit; and zero (0) hours of ethics, professionalism or substance abuse CLE credit.
