Schnader Helped Teens in Foster Care on Martin Luther King Jr. Day of ServiceOn January 15, 2018 by Schnader
Schnader Harrison Segal & Lewis LLP participated in the Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service on January 15, 2018. Organized by Schnader’s Diversity Committee and its chair, Albert S. Dandridge, III, our attorneys, staff and their families spent the day honoring King’s lifelong dedication to justice, equality, and service for the greater good.
Volunteer activities by Schnader, in partnership with Turning Points for Children, involved an inaugural program for over 30 teenagers who will age out of foster care in 2018. The Firm created care packages to provide the teens with some basic items to get started in their lives outside of the foster care system. Schnader also presented a day of “life skills training” for the teens, who have never had a home of their own, to give inspiration, education and support as they go out into the world on their own. The training included issues such as: how to write a check; how to get an ID card; and how to complete a job application.
