Jon C. Hughes, a partner in the Firm’s Pittsburgh office, will introduce the “Astrobotic Technology Presentation” which features speakers John P. Thornton and David Gump of Astrobotic Technology, as part of “Investing in Innovation: Astrobotic Technology and Pittsburgh’s Quest for the Moon” on Monday, May 9, 2011. This event celebrates Pittsburgh’s potential to become an industry hub for planetary robotics and space commercialization and is the first in a series of events through the University of Pittsburgh School of Law’s Innovation Practice Institute.

University of Pittsburgh School of Law’s Innovation Practice Institute (IPI) is a first-of-its-kind collaboration among a law school, the practicing bar, and local innovators and entrepreneurs. The IPI re-imagines how the legal profession can advance regional economic development and puts that into practice with cutting edge research, new classroom models, hands-on mentoring of law students, and community engagement. The product will be a class of new lawyers who are uniquely positioned to participate in 21st century innovation.
