On April 20, 2018 by Schnader

Stephanie A. Short and Jonathan B. Skowron presented at a CLE for the Allegheny County Bar Association, “Practicing Green – So You Want a Paperless Office? Ethical Considerations and Practical Tips.”

Environmental awareness is growing throughout society, including among lawyers and their clients. Committing to a paperless office is a great way for lawyers to reduce their environmental footprint and potentially save money. But a paperless office comes with both practical and ethical hurdles. The panel discussion included an introduction to programs available to the paperless practitioner, how to serve less tech-savvy clients, and other environmentally friendly modifications that can be made to a law practice. Ethical issues associated with paperless resources include using cloud-storage, email, and file-sharing services.
