Schnader’s Building Materials Team has experience with a wide range of construction and industrial products. We literally have decades of experience representing manufacturers, distributors, and consumers of building materials in jurisdictions around the nation. Our members have handled litigation involving innumerable types of building materials, including windows and glass, various types of flooring, concrete, steel, roofing, sealants, adhesives, HVAC equipment, electrical systems, and alarm systems. Our familiarity with these products and the manufacturing processes for these products gives us an edge.
We are well versed in the issues arising from improper product selection and negligent application or installation of products, and we work regularly with applicable building codes, including the IBC and the National Electric Code, and applicable ANSI standards. We also understand the science behind these products. For instance, in litigation involving glass products, we have handled issues such as internally reflected or piped ultraviolet and infrared light, and tempering and splitting due to metallurgical manufacturing issues. The depth of our experience has enabled us to obtain successful results throughout the nation. Our successes include numerous defense verdicts for our clients as well as substantial verdicts in our clients’ favor, including a $56 million verdict as part of a joint representation.
