Albert S. Dandridge, III co-authored the cover story in this month’s edition of The Philadelphia Lawyer, “The Times They Are a Changin’: Focusing on Justice Instead of Tradition”. The article examines the change in the name of the annual fundraising benefit for the Philadelphia Bar Foundation. In 2016, in light of newly discovered information that Andrew Hamilton was a slave owner, the Foundation formed an ad hoc committee which recommended changing the name of the former “Andrew Hamilton Benefit” to better reflect the organization’s charitable mission of promoting equal access to justice.
Dandridge is chair of the Firm’s Securities Practice Group and Chief Diversity Officer. His legal work is concentrated in municipal and corporate finance matters, and he regularly counsels major public companies, broker-dealers and investment advisors on their securities reporting and financing requirements. In 2015, Dandridge served as the 88th Chancellor of the Philadelphia Bar Association.
