Bills introduced in the Senate and more recently in the House aim to address perceived inequities in product liability litigation stemming from an increase in overseas manufacturing.  Many believe that U.S. manufacturers are at a disadvantage because of the difficulties in obtaining jurisdiction and service of process over foreign companies.  In this BNA Insight, Mr. Whitson addresses the primary requirements of these bills and discusses the potential legal issues raised by their provisions.
