Edward J. Sholinsky authored the article “Hyperlinks Not a Republication for Purposes of the Single Publication Rule” in the August 2012 MLRC MediaLawLetter, a monthly publication of the Media Law Resource Center. The article discusses the prediction of the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit that providing a link on a website to an allegedly defamatory article is not republication for the purposes of the Single Publication Rule or the statute of limitations under Pennsylvania law. The publication is distributed nationally to in-house counsel of media companies and to lawyers at outside law firms that practice media law.
