In February, partner Daniel Brooks had the opportunity travel to Guantánamo Bay, Cuba, as a designated observer for the New York City Bar Association. His experience included a first-hand look at the justice system as he attended pretrial hearings for the five detainees charged with organizing and funding the September 11 attacks. He wrote about the trip, as well as the implications of Guantánamo Bay’s proceedings for New York businesses, for Crain’s New York Business in “I went to Gitmo and all I got was this lousy T-shirt.”
