Jonathan W. Hugg published an article in Law360, “Mitigating Inflation’s Impact On Commercial Contracts.”

He wrote: “Inflation is back. The evidence is now undeniable. Unfortunately, after a generation of relative price stability, most commercial contracts do not anticipate or account for inflation. This may lead to tough decisions for sellers, lessors and lenders. The prospect of a now unprofitable contract may force them to consider renegotiating its terms, halting performance or seeking intervention from the courts.”
